Collaborative Study on the Efficacies of Integration of Two Mobile Apps with Adherence Interventions by Pharmacists for Type 2 Diabetes: Nihon Chouzai commenced the partnership with the University of Tokyo
Tokyo, Japan, January 23, 2017– NIHON CHOUZAI Co., Ltd. announced today that it has commenced the collaborative research partnership with the University of Tokyo, Graduate School of Medicine since December 1, 2016, in order to evaluate the efficacies of integration of two mobile applications, “GlucoNote” and “Okusuritecho Plus”, with adherence interventions by family pharmacists for type 2 diabetes and IGT (Impaired Glucose Tolerance) patients.
“GlucoNote” is the mobile application developed by the Department of Ubiquitous Health Informatics, Graduate School of Medicine, the University of Tokyo for self-management support for type 2 diabetes and IGT patients. It was developed with the aim of examining the relationship between data measured at home and lifestyle in order to provide appropriate support for type 2 diabetes improvement.
“Okusuritecho Plus” is the mobile prescription record book application developed by NIHON CHOUZAI Co., Ltd. Its functions are as follows1):
● Automated updating of prescription information every time a patient visit a pharmacy
● The provision of detailed information regarding prescribed medicine, and the availability of alternative generic medicine
● Facilitating browsing on PC and smartphone screens
● A personalized health control system
● A calendar and reminders to attend hospital and take medicines
● NFC (Near-Field Communication) capability to allow operation with medical equipment
The transfer of prescription information to nearby pharmacies in order to reduce waiting time
