When was NIHON CHOUZAI established?
NIHON CHOUZAI was established in Sapporo City, Hokkaido in 1980. In 1995, our headquarters was relocated to Tokyo where it remains to this day.

We operate a chain of insurance and dispensing pharmacies and provide quality health care services all over Japan. In addition, our group companies are engaged in the business of manufacturing and selling reasonably priced, high-quality generic drugs with high added value, which are highly advantageous to patients, the medical professional and placement business for pharmacists, doctors, nurses, and registered pharmaceutical medicine sellers, and the information provision and consulting business utilizing the information resources of the NIHON CHOUZAI Group, which include valuable prescription data.

What is your corporate philosophy?
Our corporate philosophy is “achieving the true separation of drug prescribing and dispensing services”, which involves both physicians and pharmacists managing the health of patients as specialists. Our journey has been one of advances in the separation of drug prescribing and dispensing services in Japan.

What is the main format of your pharmacies?
Our focus has been on dispensing pharmacies located in front of large-scale general hospitals, such as university and public hospitals. Moreover, in addition to on-site pharmacies opened inside hospitals, we are promoting the development and opening of our own original hybrid pharmacies that also have the characteristics of both diversified customer-oriented pharmacies not dependent on a specific medical institution and pharmacies at medical centers where multiple medical institutions are located in the same building. Emphasizing the functions that a dispensing pharmacy should fulfill, we aim to open balanced pharmacies that are not too heavily dependent on location.

The Company is listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. We were first listed on the second section in September 2004 and moved to the first section in September 2006.
