Message from the President
To give people the closest possible support,
We advance toward "Nihon Chouzai 2.0."
Since its founding in 1980, the Nihon Chouzai Group has promoted the separation of prescribing and dispensing functions and the widespread use of generic pharmaceuticals ahead of its time. Through these efforts, it has contributed to society by supporting the realization of a sustainable healthcare system. In December 2025, as part of our preparation for further evolution, we transitioned to a privately held company. With the addition of new partners, we are now entering a period of transformation that can truly be called "Nihon Chouzai 2.0." This transformation builds on the strong foundation we have established to date.
Today, Japan’s social insurance system stands at a major crossroads as the country enters a super-aging society. The key challenge is sustaining high-quality healthcare while containing the burden on the working population. As a healthcare group that plays a vital role in the medical system, it is our responsibility to take the initiative in addressing this pressing social issue.
The scope of medical treatment is expanding into everyday living environments, driven by advances in specialty fields such as oncology and the diversification of healthcare, including shorter hospital stays and a shift toward home-based care. Going forward, we must move beyond the limited and episodic nature of care focused solely on dispensing medication. Instead, we are called to develop a deeper understanding of patients as individuals living their daily lives and to provide hospitality, continuous support that remains close to them throughout their life journeys.
In response to these changes, it is an urgent priority for us to implement a structural transformation toward patient-centered services, in which pharmacists work closely with medical institutions and local communities to support patients. By integrating our accumulated expertise in human resources development with DX and AI, we will build a sustainable healthcare delivery system that enhances both quality and efficiency.
The Nihon Chouzai Group has defined its mission in its Group philosophy as “To give people the closest possible support.” With this mission at our core, we are committed to transforming ourselves and to continuously creating value that meets the expectations of all our stakeholders—patients, local communities, partners, and employees alike.
