Nihon Chouzai Launches In-house Developed "Nihon Chouzai Online Pharmacy Service" and Begins Operating an Online Medication Guidance System at Its Pharmacies across the Country
Tokyo, Japan, September 1, 2020– NIHON CHOUZAI Co., Ltd. announced today that it has developed the “Nihon Chouzai Online Pharmacy Service”, which allows patients to receive medication guidance at home in response to the growing need for non-contact online medical care and medication guidance, and started operating this online medication guidance system at Nihon Chouzai Group’s pharmacies (*1) across the country on September 1, 2020.
Nihon Chouzai has been actively involved in the provision of remote medication guidance in national strategic zones in order to provide patients with the highest quality medical services. We have accumulated a track record of successes, including remote medication guidance in two different areas of Aichi Prefecture and the first case of remote medication guidance in an urban area in Japan, in Chiba City. We have developed the “Nihon Chouzai Online Pharmacy Service” to coincide with, online medication guidance being available nationwide on September 1, 2020 in accordance with the revised Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act. This service is equipped with appointment and video call functions and enables online medication guidance.
Linking information with our self-developed dispensing system
You can start using this service by applying and registering at your pharmacy in advance. This service is linked to patient information in our dispensing system, so patients can easily complete the registration process.

This service has been developed to implement online medication guidance in accordance with Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act Enforcement Regulations (*2) issued by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on March 31, 2020. For this reason, the service is designed to allow customers to make an appointment with the pharmacies and pharmacists agreed upon at the time the plan is created, on the premise that the pharmacies prepare a medication guidance plan and apply for the service in advance.
In accordance with the notice(*3) issued by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as a temporary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, this service can be used without a written medication guidance plan at the present time. We will actively promote the use of this service so that patients can continue their treatment and administration of medication with peace of mind, even though the end of COVID-19 is not yet known.
